Merriman Wealth Management to Join Focus Partners Wealth

Focus Financial Partners Inc., an interdependent partnership of wealth management, business management, and related financial services firms, today announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement under which Seattle, WA-based Merriman Wealth Management, LLC will join Focus Partners Wealth, LLC.

This transaction is expected to close on February 1, 2025, subject to customary closing conditions. Upon completion of this transaction, Merriman is expected to add approximately $4.16 billion, measured as of September 30, 2024, to Focus Partners Wealth’s regulatory assets under management.

Merriman joined Focus as a network firm in 2012 and delivers personalized financial advice to clients around the country. Throughout Merriman’s history, it has remained committed to its core mission, the “Merriman Method,” which emphasizes equipping clients with reliable, intelligent information to help them make informed choices about their financial futures.

Merriman, with a team of more than 55 members primarily across the Pacific Northwest, will gain access to extensive planning and investing services through Focus Partners Wealth and, in turn, enhance its own wealth advisory capabilities. Focus Partners Wealth will gain the ability to leverage Merriman’s network of trusted advisors to strengthen its footprint in the key Pacific Northwest market.

As part of the merger, Jeremy Burger, CEO of Merriman, will join Gerry Goldberg, Wendy Hartman, and Sheila Ryan as a Division President at Focus Partners Wealth, further building out its national advisory leadership team and supporting advisors across the country.

“Our focus has always been to deliver excellent client service, offering outstanding advice, solutions, and long-term strategic guidance,” said Burger. “By joining Focus Partners Wealth, we will have even greater capacity to empower our clients with the expertise, confidence, and peace of mind they need to meet their financial goals.”

“Merriman has earned a reputation for helping clients not only overcome the challenges they face but also surpass their expectations for what’s possible when it comes to planning their financial futures,” said Adam Birenbaum, CEO of Focus Partners Wealth. “From their tailored financial planning and investment management capabilities to their high-touch service approach, Merriman shares our philosophy of putting clients’ interests and their evolving needs first, and we’re thrilled to welcome their team of like-minded advisors into the fold.”

“Merriman and Focus Partners Wealth are dedicated to serving, empowering, and meeting the needs of their clients,” said Michael Nathanson, CEO of Focus. “We’re excited to see what they accomplish together to provide even more and greater opportunities to their clients.”

The acquisition of Merriman will mark the ninth for Focus Partners Wealth since January 1, 2024, highlighting the momentum of Focus’ forward-looking strategy.
