Jared Kizer is the Lead Research Analyst for Focus Partners Wealth. By reading and analyzing the latest research in investment strategy and finance, Jared is able to draw practical applications and apply his findings to help clients improve the structure of their portfolios and achieve their goals. He is also a member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee, which evaluates findings from academic research and applies that learning to develop its investment strategy recommendations.
Jared’s passion for education doesn’t end with Focus. In 2008, Jared co-authored the book "The Only Guide to Alternative Investments You’ll Ever Need" with financial author Larry Swedroe. Jared has written several articles on topics including retirement planning and investment policy. His work has been published in The Journal of Portfolio Management, Journal of Indexes, indexuniverse.com, AdviceIQ.com, Morningstar.com and USA Today. Jared has also made appearances on local and national television, including Bloomberg Television.
Jared began his career at Focus as an investment advisor associate, an investment advisor from 2003 to 2008 and then rejoined the firm in 2010. For the previous two years, Jared was an investment strategies analyst at NISA Investment Advisors, a firm in St. Louis that manages fixed income portfolios for institutional clients. Jared holds a master’s degree in finance from Washington University in St. Louis.
